Chaplaincy in your community

Chaplaincy team group shots

Your church can partner with Anglicare’s chaplaincy ministry to reach your local community with support and practical help.

You may like to support an individual chaplain with loving financial help or faithful prayer. Or your church family may wish to volunteer alongside an Anglicare Chaplain in their mission field.

Chris

Feeling safe in your own home is a gift that many of us take for granted. For Chris, being welcomed into Anglicare’s Rooty Hill Village was an answer to her prayers. She had been struggling with the increased costs of rent and the difficulty of walking up three flights of stairs with her growing health concerns.

Not only did Chris find support from the staff at Rooty Hill, but a community with many activities including morning teas, gardening days and crafts. She also found great comfort from Melanie, the Community Chaplain.

Melanie invited Chris to Minchinbury Anglican Church and immediately Chris felt she was finally home. She now attends a regular Bible study at the church and has made many wonderful new friends. When asked if Anglicare had changed her life for the better, she said, “Yes it has!”

Anglicare acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the original and ongoing custodians of the lands and waters on which we live and work.

Inspired by the gospel of reconciliation in Jesus Christ, Anglicare's vision for reconciliation is a nation in which Australia's First Peoples are restored in dignity, respect, empowerment and opportunity.
