Toy and Food gifts for Christmas
Every year, ANGLICARE helps thousands of people who would otherwise go without at Christmas. By participating in our ‘Toys ‘n’ Tucker’ program your company can help provide gifts to make Christmas a special time for the families and children we work with. Each year our Community Care workers see what a difference this makes to struggling families.
Buying a gift is just a click away! Our online gift donation system makes it easy to purchase toys. Just visit our website www.simplygiving.com.au/anglicare and choose from a range of specially selected and age specific gifts. You could also arrange to have a web-link from your company website pointed directly to our website giving page for toy purchases. All orders will be delivered straight to our warehouse, ready for our volunteers to pack. This provision has been arranged by a toy supplier (ProToys) linked to the Simply Giving site.
You can also be directly involved in the Christmas food and toy hampers program by volunteering a day to help pack at our warehouse facility. . Why not make it one of your corporate volunteering days where staff know that their day is spent directly assisting those less fortunate than themselves.

Just one story from someone who received a food and toy hamper last Christmas.
Carol is a 38 year old woman who separated from her husband last year. She has three children, a girl of 13 and sons aged seven and eight.
Prior to her husband leaving, Carol was working part time however is now trying to gain full- time employment. She has a mortgage to cover as well as the normal bills and family expenses. Her husband is not paying child support as he has stopped working since they separated and, due to unresolved tax issues, the Child Support Agency has been unable to ascertain his income.
We began by assisting Carol with food vouchers and her utility bills, as well as referring her to counselling. She was dreading Christmas, as she had already earmarked the Family Tax Benefit bonus of $3000 toward her mortgage as she has had quite a few late payments. She really didn’t know how she would be able to provide for her children.
Carol was overwhelmed by the support she received from ANGLICARE. She received lovely gifts from the hamper packing centre – the quality of the gifts was extremely high. She also was able to buy “extras” for Christmas lunch with the $50 voucher she received. She expressed her thanks to the volunteers at the Campbelltown office stating that she hopes she is able to give to ANGLICARE in the future.
