ANGLICARE wins Australian Safer Community Award

ANGLICARE has been named the NSW state winner of the Australian Safer Community Awards in the Non-Profit Category.

The award was for an entry titled “Interagency Team Leader Training” submitted by ANGLICARE’s Disaster Recovery Teams.

The award was presented by the Hon Steve Whan MP, Minister for Emergency Services at Parliament House on Thursday, 24 September.

ANGLICARE’s Disaster Recovery teams consist of local groups of trained volunteers, who play a vital role in delivering care and assistance to those affected by disasters. Major emergencies provide opportunities for Christians to respond with compassion; touching the lives of those affected, with love and care, in Christ's name.

ANGLICARE is one of a number of organisations, working as a community partner, to provide an effective and co-ordinated response when major emergencies occur. ANGLICARE provides practical support, hope and encouragement to those affected by disaster.
