Green Light for State of the Art Seniors living in SW Sydney
ANGLICARE Sydney has secured land for the development of a Chesalon Living seniors community and aged care facility within the new Oran Park town area.
The Chesalon Living development will comprise independent living villas and apartments, serviced apartments for the elderly, assisted living units, a day centre for the elderly and a residential aged care facility for both high and low care, along with a dementia specific unit.
ANGLICARE’s Director of Chesalon Living, Rob Evers says the new Chesalon Living Oran Park development will enable the organisation to offer holistic living for seniors for the first time.
“Seniors living and aged care is an integral part of any successful community development.
“ANGLICARE's Chesalon Living has a long and proud history of providing quality aged care and seniors living - The Oran Park development enables it to expand to provide a full 'continuum of care' for seniors’ living that enables seniors to live enriched lives in communities of Christian care,” Mr Evers said.
A ‘community hub’ area will also be developed with a wellness recreation area, restaurants, a theatrette, library, a computer centre and hairdressing facilities. There will also be a retail area that will consist of a chemist, newsagency, convenience store and allied health centre for medical practitioners.
Located adjacent to the Chesalon Living site will be a new Anglican church and an ANGLICARE Centre for family and community services.
Mr Evers says all the planned developments will be carried out with consideration for the environment.
“The community will be developed along environmentally sustainable guidelines incorporating recycled water, solar heating, fibre optics, energy smart building materials and other ‘green’ features where possible”, Mr Evers said.
Construction of the Chesalon Living at Oran Park Town will commence early 2011 and will be developed over five stages, with completion due in 2018.
