Lives changing and communities growing by care through Jesus Christ

Share The Love

ANGLICARE Sydney engaged young people in a big way at Big Exo Day on Saturday 17 September – Australia’s largest drug and alcohol free youth festival.

Big Exo Day brings together young people from all over Sydney, incorporating extreme sports, music and youth culture all aiming to reach a new generation for Christ.

ANGLICARE Sydney, with the help of volunteers from St Paul’s Castle Hill, ran an interactive store in the ‘Justice Zone’ and mingled with over 10,000 young people challenging them to ‘ShareTheLove’.

‘ShareTheLove’ was also launched on Facebook, with four videos exploring; what is love? what things do we love? what does God’s love look like? what is the one thing you will do to share love? See the main video here.

“The idea of ‘ShareTheLove’ was inspired by the social media phenomenon of sharing all things social – we are trying to engage young people to think about their own hearts, and God’s place in their lives”, said Luke Davie, ANGLICARE Sydney’s Youth Coordinator.

“Young people can see through gimmicks really quickly. They want authentic relationship. Jesus gives us the best relationship we can ever have with God.

"We want to inspire young people to see that loving others well is part of enjoying relationship with God and glorifying Him – this is where real, deep joy is found."

Over 1200 young people at Big Exo day came forward in response to a Gospel talk, to take Bibles and explore further what it means to call Jesus their Lord and Saviour.

ANGLICARE Sydney continues to grow its youth engagement through stronger online social media presence.
