Lives changing and communities growing by care through Jesus Christ

Youth Group Action

The Crossfire youth group at St Paul’s Castle Hill, Sydney’s largest Anglican Church dug deep into their wardrobes to fill piles of bags with clothes for those doing it tough.

Luke Davie who works in Youth Marketing for ANGLICARE Sydney was invited to encourage the St Paul’s youth to listen to what Jesus says about caring for those who are poor and vulnerable.
“This was a really simple, practical way to care for those in need. All it took was the desire of these young people to give generously and to listen to Jesus teaching about caring for others”, said Luke.
“It is clear to me that young people know that following Jesus requires them to live differently and to care differently.
“At ANGLICARE Sydney we are seeking to help young people join those dots, to help them love others in response to Jesus’ outrageously generous love for them.”
ANGLICARE Sydney is working with youth groups around Sydney and the Illawarra to help them understand what the Bible says about caring for those in need, as an act of service and worship of Jesus.
Donations of clothing, long–life foods and toiletries are mainly used to help people in crisis who need Emergency Relief. Pre-loved clothes are also sold at ANGLICARE shops.
Youth groups who want ANGLICARE to visit them to speak about caring for the vulnerable or would like to help with clothing and food drives should contact Luke Davie on (02) 9895 8085 or ldavie@anglicare.org.au.
