This Study was commissioned by Emergency Management Australia (EMA) and directed by the Australian Emergency Management Volunteer Forum (AEMVF). The Study involved the design of a national survey to estimate the direct financial costs and in-kind contribution of volunteers in the emergency management sector. This Study's results are based on the findings of this national survey, which was carried out from May to July 2006.
