Social Exclusion: The Sydney Experience 2009
ANGLICARE Sydney has released the findings from our latest research on poverty and social exclusion in Sydney and the Illawarra.
Between July 2007 and February 2009, ANGLICARE Sydney interviewed 13,000 people who came to their seven emergency relief (ER) centres across Sydney and the Illawarra.
Against the backdrop of the global financial crisis, the research reflects the growing complexity of hardship and deprivation faced by the most disadvantaged members of our society.
The report advocates strongly for a more comprehensive model of assistance that addresses the root causes of multiple disadvantage that contribute to social exclusion.
