Ministry
Chaplaincy ministry is challenging and diverse, yet deeply rewarding for people motivated by a love for the Lord Jesus and commitment to helping needy and hurting people.
Each chaplain and each institution is different and creative ministry strategies allow chaplains to discover the most effective ways to minister in their own situation.
Ministry opportunities include:
- One-on-one and small group ministry with patients, inmates, residents, detainees and also their families
- Conducting chapel services
- Formation of congregations, fellowships or Bible studies within the institutions
- Response to requests for ministry in trauma and crisis
- Leadership, training and support of volunteer teams
- Team work with chaplains of other denominations
- Individual or group ministry with staff
- Providing ministry training, especially in pastoral care, to other chaplains, volunteers and parishes
