Chesalon Living
Chesalon Living is the new name for ANGLICARE’s seniors’ living division. Its name reflects the forward-looking response ANGLICARE has toward Australia’s ageing population; now with an enhanced range of supported and independent living options for seniors.
Chesalon is a biblical word meaning hope, security and comfort. For 65 years Chesalon has lived up to its name - as a refuge from the isolation caused by loss of mobility; or the loss of a loving partner and carer. Chesalon Living adds life and vitality to the promise of hope, security and comfort.
Chesalon has always been synonymous with excellent professional care for the very frail. ANGLICARE’s reputation for quality aged care owes much to Chesalon’s concentration in this area. It remains a part of our mission as a Christian organisation. However, for ANGLICARE to remain relevant to the requirements of older Australians, we recognise the need to expand into new categories of care. This is under way with the redevelopment of Chesalon Jannali. There are also plans to establish an eighth residential facility at Ingleburn Gardens in Sydney’s south-west. By incorporating space for Day Centres and Community Care programs into new residential developments, we are re-developing outdated facilities and providing new facilities in those areas where there is a growing need.
Chesalon Living will retain its mission focus. It is this which leads us to seek ways to address unmet needs - such as providing care for couples with differing care needs; and accommodation for elderly parents with disabled children. Our vision is to strengthen communities, rather than aid the trend toward isolation of older people from the family, community and church.
Our goals reflect our belief, that the Gospel is well-served by nurturing relationships, through which faith and hope can be shared.
Currently Chesalon Living is comprised of two areas of aged care services and support:
- Chesalon Care: provides high quality residential aged care and associated support services
- Chesalon Services: offers services into a client’s home, day care centres and curer support services.
