Chesalon Care

As an established provider of residential aged care, Chesalon Care has an enviable record of achievement in the delivery of residential care to frail older people.
Chesalon was founded in 1943, in response to a need for care for the elderly in the community. Initially this was through a home nursing service, and then later through the provision of residential care.
The first Chesalon Care home was opened in 1952. Today there are 6 Chesalon Care homes spread across Sydney, the Illawarra and Shoalhaven, providing permanent and respite accommodation for a total of 448 frail older people who require High and Low level residential aged care. In 2009 / 2010 Chesalon redeveloped two of its homes, to increase capacity and offer a greater breadth of service provision. Most facilities include a dementia specific area and 3 now offer a higher level of “Extra Service” which incorporates superior accommodation and a higher level of hotel type services, while still receiving quality high-care services.
The planned development at the new Oran Park Village in Sydney South West also heralds a significant broadening of our service delivery.  The new development will provide the full range of high and low-care accommodation services, as well as a wide range of independent living units for those who have a greater degree of independence.
Through its residential aged care facilities Chesalon Care seeks to create homes that are safe, secure and caring, places that enrich lives in communities of Christian care. As a Christian organisation we seek to show God’s love in practical ways to frail older people and their families and friends.
Chesalon Care is part of ANGLICARE’s Chesalon aged services which includes Chesalon Living (retirement living), Chesalon Services (community based aged care) and Chesalon Care (residential aged care).
