Foster Care
Anglicare provides foster care services throughout METROPOLITAN SYDNEY. The programs which are offered are:
• PERMANENT CARE
(long term placements for children until 18yrs, sometimes with a view to adoption)
• PERMANENT CARE SUPPORT
(providing respite to support a child in a permanent placement, usually one weekend a month)
• TEMPORARY CARE
(short-medium term, up to 12 months, for children who are waiting for a Court decision on their long term future, or who are to be restored to the care of their parent.)
• CRISIS CARE
(usually short term or emergency care for a child or young person when their family is in a crisis. Operates 24 hours a day.)
• WEEKEND CARE
(providing respite to support a child whose family is under stress, usually one weekend per month)
• BRIDGING PLACEMENTS
(usually medium term, up to two years, for children who are waiting for a permanent family)
• COMMUNITY PLACEMENTS
(boarding situations for young people over 16)
