ESL
Anglicare Sydney’s ESL services works in close partnership with a number of parishes in the Sydney Diocese. The service:
• Organises initial training and support for church members wanting to establishing community English classes in their churches
• provides a network of help and encouragement for those involved in ESL
• organises twice-yearly in-service training days to assist, encourage and train volunteer teachers in ESL methodology
• provides an ESL resource library accessible to all teachers
• facilitates a volunteer professional ESL writers’ team to produce resources
• provides a copyright licence for church community classes
• makes available lessons about current events and cultural holidays to assist teachers present relevant lessons.
