National Church Life Survey
ANGLICARE’s Policy Unit is dedicated to Mission Research - a process of conducting research into church life, which produces helpful resources for the church’s ministry and mission. By providing the latest findings and data as objective evidence, churches can assess many aspects of their life, as well as plan for the future.
Mission Research has a focus on the vitality and health of churches. It draws heavily on ground-breaking research from the National Church Life Survey (NCLS) in Australia. Results are specific to each church, and help to identify core aspects which contribute to its growth and vitality; or that need attention. Help for church leaders is available, as well as strategies that encourage effective and sustainable leadership. Census material prepared specifically for church locations is also prepared by mission research.
Staff
Mission Research is conducted by staff from the Policy Unit. ANGLICARE Diocese of Sydney is a major sponsor of NCLS Research, therefore the Polity Unit benefits from employing two NCLS team members.
