ESL Training Day is back and in person!
Our theme this year: English For Life.
Speaker: Sandy Grant, Senior Minister at St Michael’s Wollongong.
Come along for a great day of Biblical encouragement and practical electives. Learn about our latest classroom resource, access the Anglicare ESL library, enjoy delicious food and connect with likeminded people!
Let’s come together and encourage one another to keep reaching our communities with the words that bring life. For those who are unable to attend in person, a live-stream of the main sessions will be provided.
Includes morning tea and lunch.
Unable to attend In-Person ? We have two live-stream options available: individual and group.
- In Our Community is a flexible series of lesson plans and our latest book focuses on health. Each lesson has a Bible spot. The lessons are designed for teaching elementary and pre-intermediate learners. Come along for an overview of the book and an opportunity to participate in some of the lesson activities. Led by Sue Radkovic.
- Me, my students, and our wellbeing Michaels Aibangbee (Anglicare Mental Health team) In this elective we will discuss how to promote the wellbeing of your students, your team and yourself! Our discussion will range from simple self care tips through to information about mental health and referral pathways. You will leave this workshop more confident that you have the skills to engage positively with your students and improve their learning outcomes.
- Make the most of your lesson planning Do you run out of time for all the activities you prepare? Has your material been too easy or too hard? Do you end up doing 80% of the talking? Does your Bible time get squeezed out? If you have had any of these challenges as a teacher, then come along to this practical session led by Cailey Raffel. It will help you to make sure the time you spend preparing lessons is really beneficial for you and your students.
Registration closes for in-person attendance on Monday 5th July.
Numbers will be capped to comply with COVID restrictions in place at the time.
Unfortunately, we cannot take registrations on the day.
