If you are looking for adoption information or would like to meet family members from whom you have been separated by adoption, Anglicare can support you. We can help families where an adoption was facilitated by Anglicare. We understand this can be a complicated and emotional process.
Please ring us on (02) 9890 6800 and ask to speak to the Adoption and Guardianship team to discuss how we can best help you. We can assist you to apply to the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) for an Adoption Information Certificate and your Memorandum of Adoption.
Once you provide these documents to Anglicare, we can open your Anglicare Adoption file. The files contain information recorded at the time of the adoption and correspondence and records of events since the adoption.
Anglicare can support you to understand what happened at the time of the adoption and help you decide what you would like to do next. If you would like to reach out to a birth family member, we can help you find them and support you in organising a reunion.
You may like to look at the DCJ website which has information available about searching for birth family and how you can obtain your Adoption Information Certificate and your Memorandum of Adoption.
Call us 02 9890 6800 or fill out this form and one of our friendly staff will get back to you as soon as possible
