Stepping Up for the Next Generation

Making it a day of complete fun

People are sometimes surprised to find out that an organisation known for Home Care and Retirement Living also provides comprehensive support services to young people. Why do we do this? Simple, caring for the next generation is part of our calling too.

Think of Timothy. Paul wrote of Timothy's "sincere faith" which first lived in his grandmother Lois, and his mother Eunice (2 Timothy 1:5). Timothy became a young pastor and encourager of the early church, but his foundation was laid in the faithfulness of two women who spoke of God's goodness at home. They were his foundations.

Today's young people carry their own burdens: housing stress, rising costs, and fear for the future. Many feel they might be falling behind before they've even started. Yet, some things don't have to be uncertain. Into this weight, we are called to be foundations of faith and support. Like Lois and Eunice, we are invited to share our faith and stand alongside the next generation of leaders as they navigate life's challenges, offering wisdom, hope, and practical help wherever we can.

Reading Psalm 145:4 we might ask: how can I show the next generation God's love and faith? This month, we invite you to pray for one young person in your life and consider one practical way you could offer them wisdom or support.

Grace and peace.
