Volunteer with us

Studies show that when you volunteer, you’re happier and you live longer!

When you give your time and skills, not only do you give back to your community... but help to build a vibrant and caring neighbourhood.

As a valued Anglicare volunteer, you’ll join more than 1,500 like-minded volunteers who generously give of themselves to assist in Christian-based programs and provide support for struggling individuals and families - you’ll play an important role in enhancing the quality of their lives.

Start volunteering today and meet new people, learn new skills and enjoy the sense of belonging that comes from being part of a team... the difference you can make to others is heart-warming.

Bless your community

There are countless ways for you to love lonely, isolated and vulnerable members of your community in a big organisation like Anglicare.

  • Chat with residents or run a bingo session or share your creative talents at a residential aged care home
  • Enjoy engaging in intergenerational programs
  • Support people with mental health challenges or make yourself available for people who are socially isolated and talk with them on the phone
  • When disaster strikes, help out at Anglicare’s disaster evacuation and recovery centres and support families who have survived a disaster.
  • Support immigrants and refugees in adjusting to daily life in Australia.
  • Volunteer at your local Op Shop – a bustling hub in your community!
  • Put your experience to use... do some light gardening, help someone plan their budget, make coffee in a café, help out in a library!

The opportunities really are endless!

Discover a great sense of achievement and purpose

There’s so much for you to gain from volunteering – new friends, new skills and a greater sense of confidence. But best of all, you’re doing meaningful work that gives back to your community!

Options to suit your schedule

You can volunteer your time on a regular or occasional basis - whatever suits you! Training is provided. Whichever way you choose to volunteer, our Volunteer Team is here to support you to help make it a purposeful experience... for both you and those you seek to serve.

Whether you’re an Anglicare resident, part of the local parish, looking for something special or you need to complete your Mutual Obligation for Centrelink, we’re so grateful that you want to generously give of your time and spirit. Secondary schools can participate through the Take Love program. Corporate groups are welcome to reach out for a chat about volunteering for a day too!

So, if you have a skill or passion that you would like to share, please reach out to see how Anglicare can help you to bless others in your community.

Anglicare acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the original and ongoing custodians of the lands and waters on which we live and work.

Inspired by the gospel of reconciliation in Jesus Christ, Anglicare's vision for reconciliation is a nation in which Australia's First Peoples are restored in dignity, respect, empowerment and opportunity.
