Welcome to the Foster Care Resource Hub for Churches

We invite you to explore this resource hub, created to equip you and your church to respond with Christ-like compassion to the growing needs of children in Out-of-Home Care. The need is urgent. Right now, children in NSW are in desperate need of safe, loving homes. The church has both the mandate and the motivation to respond to God's love by extending that love to the most vulnerable among us.

We are not all called to do the same thing, but we can all do something.

Here, you'll find information and resources to help your church pray intentionally, raise awareness of the urgent needs, and foster a community that supports foster carers and the children they welcome into their homes. Together, we can make a meaningful impact as we reflect God's love in action.

Foster Care and the Bible

What does the Bible say about foster care? As Christians, how should we respond to the needs of vulnerable children in our communities?

Rev. Bethany Downes, Anglicare Foster Care Chaplain, explores the biblical mandate and motivation for caring for those who are unable to live with their birth family. Discover how God’s heart for vulnerable children inspires us to take action and learn how your gifts can play a role.

Take the Next Step: Become a Foster Circle Church

We're so grateful for the ways your church may already be engaging with foster care - ;through prayer, events, or practical support. Every act of involvement matters and makes a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and their families.

But perhaps your church sees an opportunity to take an even deeper step. Becoming a Foster Circle Church means going beyond occasional involvement and making foster care a central part of your mission. It's about building long-term relationships with foster families, creating a consistent support network, and partnering with Anglicare for ongoing guidance and resources.

If your church feels led to make foster care a core part of your ministry, we'd love to explore what this partnership could look like with you.
