Your care experience at Anglicare, goes beyond the physical – it reaches the heart and soul. That’s why every one of our residential aged care homes is supported by a dedicated Pastoral Care team, including a Chaplain and Pastoral Carers, who are here to walk alongside you and your family throughout your care journey, to provide you with spiritual and emotional support.
Whether it’s through a quiet conversation, shared prayer, a weekly church service, a friendly visit or even walk around the gardens, our team is always ready to offer comfort, connection, and meaningful conversation regardless of your religion or background.
We’d love to get to know you – just reach out.
Shelly*, Lemongrove Gardens resident
"I enjoy attending weekly Church services and Bible study when it is on. I really love it and feel very positive and happy and appreciate when the pastoral team say prayers with Me."
Shelly spent the first 6 – 7 years of her life as a prisoner of war of the Japanese during World War II, living with her mum in a prison in Hong Kong. There have been lots of issues for her to deal with because of that trauma throughout her life.
"I had heard about God but feel that I have now been able to gain a deeper understanding of God and His desire for a friendship and relationship with me. I know Jesus as my saviour, and am happy being encouraged and supported on that Journey."
Larissa* , daughter of a resident at Goodhew Gardens and Bay Breeze
"I would like to express my deep and heartfelt appreciation to the Chaplain for the loving, healing and nurturing ways you have been praying with my mum. After her fall, the two of you prayed together, and when you left, she told me she has never experienced such a powerful prayer experience before." In her own words, "It was beautiful. Just so beautiful!"
"After talking to her, it was obvious to me that in those precious moments the two of you shared, she found inner peace. And you touched her heart in ways I cannot begin to describe. In all honesty, I thank God every day that we somehow found Anglicare and Bay Breeze for Mum. Not only are all her physical and medical needs met but the way Anglicare meets her spiritual and emotional needs is beyond precious! THANK YOU SO MUCH!’
Beverley*, Eileen Armstrong House resident
"I am always encouraged to see the Chaplaincy team working in partnership with the Lifestyle and Care teams to facilitate the residents coming together. Most recently, we were greatly blessed by the gift of an indoor and outdoor Easter Garden.
The imagination and richness of the installation brought together both a teaching moment and a tactile experience. The Easter story was appreciated anew by residents, staff and visitors alike."
