Choose two electives from the following:

Beyond the Classroom - Panel
How can we build community outside the classroom and point our students to Jesus? Join our panel discussion with Clive Buultjens, Margaret Powell, Adelfa Woodforde, Jan Williams and Sue Radkovic who will share examples of what actually works. Come ready with questions and leave with concrete ideas you can try in your own context.

Managing a Mixed-Level Class.
Beginner in the front row, near-fluent at the back... sound familiar? This elective looks at realistic strategies for teaching mixed-level classes without losing your mind - or your students. We'll explore grouping, tasks with built-in levels, simple differentiation, and how to set expectations so everyone feels stretched but not overwhelmed.

Keeping Conversation Going - Group Facilitation Skills
Ever watched a 'conversation group' die after two questions? This session focuses on the skills behind good group time: asking better questions, drawing out quieter students, handling dominant talkers, and deflecting questions back to the group instead of turning into a mini-lecture. You'll leave with simple frameworks to keep conversations flowing and make everyone feel included.

Pronunciation Skills for Everyday English
How can we help our students with pronunciation? When is it right to correct pronunciation, and when should we leave it? Learn practical and fun ways to work on sounds, word stress and sentence rhythm. Join Liz Walker for this introduction to teaching pronunciation in the Everyday English classroom.

Refugee Experience Simulation - Walking in Their Shoes
Understand the refugee journey through a brief, guided simulation designed for Everyday English volunteers. Learn to teach with compassion to reduce anxiety and uphold dignity. Led by David Ip, Senior Program Manager, Mental Health Services at Anglicare.

Anglicare acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the original and ongoing custodians of the lands and waters on which we live and work.

Inspired by the gospel of reconciliation in Jesus Christ, Anglicare's vision for reconciliation is a nation in which Australia's First Peoples are restored in dignity, respect, empowerment and opportunity.
