Access to specialised resources

A commitment to continuous learning is an important part of your journey as a foster carer. Our clinical care team have curated a rich library of therapeutic and practical resources - from toolkits, printed booklets, and online learning modules to recommended websites and research. And when you connect with your case manager or our clinical care team, you'll have direct access to tailored guidance and an incredible range of supports to help you in your role.

Financial support for foster carers

Our goal is to help you create a safe and nurturing home where children can flourish, without worrying about costs on your own. While foster care is not a salaried role, we support your financial stability by providing a regular allowance, reimbursing essential caregiving expenses, and ensuring that children's practical needs are met.

This support allows you to focus on what matters most: offering safety, stability, and love. We'll also guide you clearly through what is covered and how payments work, so you always know what to expect.

Your foster carer allowance

As an authorised Anglicare foster carer, you'll receive a tax-free Care Allowance to help cover the daily expenses associated with the child in your care. This includes food, clothing, education, travel, and leisure activities. You'll also receive financial support for the initial set-up cost of placement. There may also be additional costs for the child reimbursed, such as the costs of specialist medical appointments.

Practical and emotional support for foster carers

With over 50 years of experience as an Australian foster care provider, we're committed to providing thoughtful wraparound support for foster carers. We know that fostering is a life-changing commitment, one that calls for emotional, spiritual, and practical backing. Whether you're offering crisis, short-term, or long-term care, you'll be surrounded by a compassionate team that understands your journey.
