Areas in aged care

Home care worker
As an Anglicare At Home Care Worker, you’ll help older people keep their independence as you help with personal care, domestic cleaning, meal preparation, transport and social support… and the need is growing! If you’re after a career that offers flexibility, there are part-time and casual roles available.
Carer
If you have a heart for the elderly and a passion for caring, then look no further than a Carer role at one of Anglicare’s residential care homes. Benefits include above award rates of pay, a comprehensive orientation program, ongoing education and training opportunities… so you can ensure that residents receive outstanding care. Traineeships are also available for those without qualifications.
Registered nurse
Benefits include above award rates of pay and a comprehensive orientation. After 12 months of service, you will also receive a Study Bonus of up to $3,000 to contribute towards the repayment of your study debt. Allied health professional
Use your clinical skills to provide personalised care that supports the independence and dignity of Anglicare residents and clients and helps to improve their quality of life. Opportunities exist for physiotherapists, physiotherapy aides and assistants, occupational therapists, nutritionists, speech pathologists and mental health practitioners. Lifestyle workers
Provide a wide variety of engaging activities for Anglicare residents to choose from, enrich their lives and help contribute to their wellbeing. This could include coordinating outings, developing programs that foster meaningful relationships or simply organising activities that make things interesting around the home. Residential aged care and retirement village managers
Oversee all operations at an Anglicare residential aged care home or retirement villages. Lead a team to provide clinical, spiritual and lifestyle support to residents and foster a caring and welcoming environment for all. Health and wellness consultants

We want all of our villages and residential care facilities to feel like home… that’s where you come in! Maintenance roles cover anything from carpentry works, painting and lock repairs to appliance fault-finding. Gardeners perform tree care, minor landscaping projects, mulching, weeding and watering.

Traineeships in aged care

Step into a pathway to a rewarding career! Learn the skills and knowledge you need as an aged care worker in a residential or homecare setting.

Your Traineeship will teach you to use a person-centred approach and follow individualised care plans. By promoting healthy lifestyles and supporting emotional wellbeing, you will discover how to provide care that also empowers older people to maintain their dignity and independence.

Student placements

If you are currently studying with one of Anglicare’s Registered Training Organisation partners, then you may be able to complete your Student Placement in one of Anglicare’s residential aged care homes. Placements are available for:

  • Cert III/IV Individual Support
  • Cert III Health Services
  • Cert III/IV Allied Health
  • Cert IV Leisure and Health
  • Diploma in Nursing

Your two-to-three-week placement will provide you real life work experience in a structured and supportive environment. You’ll receive mentoring and buddy training from an experienced Anglicare care worker. And there may even opportunities for ongoing employment after the conclusion of your placement, depending on your placement outcomes.
