Coledale Frontyard Church

Support this program

Anglicare is partnering with the Diocese of Armidale to support the Indigenous community of Coledale through the Frontyard Church ministry.

Coledale is home to 30% of Tamworth’s Indigenous community with a population of roughly 3000 people. The area itself has high rates of unemployment and substance abuse. Many young people in Coledale find themselves with nothing to do and often get themselves into trouble.

Coledale Frontyard Church helps the Indigenous community practically and pastorally, enabling people to make better decisions for themselves and their families. The service provides a safe space for Indigenous people to gather and hear the Bible preached. It gives an opportunity to share life, pray and support one another.

Dinner is also provided for those who attend with 80 – 120 people being fed dinner each week. Many of the Indigenous children benefit from this as they don’t always get a meal at home. The church also has a food pantry for those in need.

Volunteers from the church regularly meet and check in with those in the Indigenous community.

Please pray for the ministry of Coledale Frontyard Church: that Jesus’ love will be made known throughout the Indigenous community of South Tamworth.
