    Accommodation Payment

The payment estimator below will show you how much your daily payment will be, based on how much you pay as a lump sum payment. This is for non-supported people who have to pay the full accommodation payment. There are three ways you can pay your accommodation.

    1.  As a lump sum payment known as the refundable accommodation deposit (RAD). You will get the majority of the RAD refunded when you leave. The residential care provider retains 2% of the RAD each year. This is known as the retention amount. The retention amount is set by the government and capped at 5 years. It is deducted from the balance of your RAD each month.
    2.  As a daily accommodation payment (DAP). This is calculated on the price of the room, any unpaid RAD and the current MPIR (Maximum Permissible Interest Rate). The MPIR is set by the government. The DAP is indexed twice a year and is not refundable.
    3. Or a combination of the two.

To pay your accommodation as a RAD from your date of entry you will need to have received your means assessment from Services Australia or chosen to not disclose your income and assets. If you are waiting to receive your means assessment from Services Australia you will need to pay your accommodation as a DAP. Once the assessment is received by Anglicare you can then choose to pay your accommodation as a RAD, DAP or combination.

If you are partially supported by the government you will also contribute to the cost of your accommodation. In addition to accommodation payments other fees apply. To learn more about these Fees and Charges click here.
