As you get out of bed, you have a comforting thought - your friends, who now feel more like family, are waiting to greet you at breakfast. Like you expected, your friends are already in the dining area, they’re early birds. You take your usual seat and think about what you want for breakfast today. Usually, you love a warm bowl of oats, but today, you feel like bacon and eggs.
As you enjoy your breakfast and talking with your friends about the plans for the day, more people begin to arrive as start filling up the dining room. Extended breakfast hours provide options and flexibility to suit each person’s morning routine.

After breakfast, you head to the café for a second coffee with friends, this time it’s a cappuccino with extra chocolate, just the way you like it. The chatter is easy, and the laughs are plenty. Today you decide to try your hand at indoor putt-putt, you were never a golfer, but it looks like fun and a chance to meet some new people. Later, you join your friends and head to the nearby duck pond for a walk and fresh air. The walking paths make it easy to take it slow and soak in the peaceful surrounds.
Once a month you get together with friends and cook up a BBQ for lunch, sharing the simple joy of cooking and eating together.
When lunch and dinner comes around, the dining room has a vibrant energy. Mealtimes are an enjoyable experience that you look forward to, socialising with your friends and with a glass of wine when you choose. You’re grateful for the variety of choice and freshly prepared options the hospitality team prepare each day. Next month you’ve decided to join the food focus group to work with the team on the next menu. You have always enjoyed cooking, so you’re pleased to be involved and contribute.
As you retire to your room for the evening, you reflect on your day and your time at Donington Court so far. A big decision at the time to leave your family home, and everything that was familiar to you, but you’re pleased you did. You’re happy you made the move on your own terms, choosing a residential aged care home that feels right for you, a place where you can embrace the social atmosphere, enjoy activities, continue your favourite hobbies, and even explore new ones.
Yet perhaps what you value most are the friendships you’ve built since moving in. On quieter days, when you’re not up for much, it’s comforting to know that you’re surrounded by a supportive and friendly community.
You also appreciate the respectful balance of independence and care the staff provide, they’re always there when you need them.
This is now your home, a place where you feel safe, respected and loved.
