Anglicare Sydney is pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Achterstraat, as Group Executive – Seniors Communities, effective in mid-May.
This follows the appointment of Laurie Boxwell, former Group Executive of Seniors Communities, to the role of Chief Executive of the expanded Residential Care group, which will be established following the recently announced acquisition of Infinite Care.
Seniors Communities appointment
Adam Achterstraat has been appointed to the role of Group Executive – Seniors Communities and will join Anglicare in May.
Adam is a respected leader across property, retail and government sectors, with over 20 years’ experience in developments, strategy, advocacy, finance, government relations and customer-centred design.
He joins Anglicare from Scentre Group (owner and operator of Westfield AU/NZ), where he has held various General Manager and Executive roles across asset management, development, strategy and finance.
Adam also previously worked as a senior political and policy advisor across State and Federal Government to various Ministers.
Simon Miller, Chief Executive Officer of Anglicare Sydney said: “I’m thrilled to welcome Adam to Anglicare Sydney. He brings a depth of executive experience and a values‑driven, customer-led approach that will help us continue to grow our Seniors Communities experience in a way that is genuinely resident‑centred and true to our mission.”
Mr Achterstraat said: “Anglicare’s mission deeply resonates with me, and I’m excited to contribute my experience to an organisation that places people at the centre. I look forward to helping build communities where residents feel supported, connected, and truly at home.”
Residential Care Group leadership
Former Group Executive of Seniors Communities, Laurie Boxwell, has been appointed to the critical role of Chief Executive of our Residential Care group, to oversee both the Infinite Care team, led by Luke Greive, and Anglicare Sydney residential care team, led by Dave Izzard, and lead integration.
“Laurie has been an incredibly effective leader of the Seniors Communities team, and I know he will be a wonderful leader for the combined residential care group, thanks to his strong operational capacity, resident focus, mission-centred approach, and collaborative leadership style,” said Mr Miller.
Mr Boxwell said: “I’m pleased to take on this role at a time when Anglicare’s residential care services are growing in scale and national reach. My focus is on supporting residents and our people as we bring teams together, while maintaining strong and people-centred care for older Australians.”
