Parenting after Separation

This five week program includes: 
 

  • Education on the importance of children’s emotional and physical safety
  • Recognition that distress felt in separation is a normal process
  • Acknowledgment that separation creates change which can be viewed as a destructive event or a time for personal growth
  • Education on awareness of parents actions impacting on themselves and their children

1-2-3 Magic & Emotion Coaching

This three week program is designed to assist parents and caregivers of 2 – 12yr old children: 

 

  • Increase their knowledge about what works in managing difficult behaviour
  • Lessen their feelings of frustration   
  • Get better results with less effort and stress

Engage 4 Mums

 

This four week program is designed for Mums who have limited time with their children.  The program includes:

  • Identification of both a healthy and unhealthy relationships; in their own lives and with people in authority; the effect of domestic violence on children is discussed
  • Education on the necessity for a child to have a secure base and the importance of attachment with one primary caregiver.  Individual grief is discussed with strategies of self-care and acceptance of their situation.
  • Participants become aware of the importance of play and using play as an engagement tool with their child.  Recognition of the feelings in the irregularity of the relationship is explored.
  • Persistence and resilience needed for the life long relationship

Engage 4 Dads

Engage 4 Mums

 

This four week program is designed for Dads or Mums who have limited time with their children.  The program includes:

MEN’S BEHAVIOUR CHANGE PROGRAM

Wexler D.B.

This program is for men who want to work towards establishing healthy and safe relationships. The program offers men intensive training in new skills for self-management, communication, problem solving and empathy for others.

 

This 16 week program provides men opportunities to:

 

  • Reflect on their beliefs about male identity
  • Learn to demonstrate respectful behaviour in relationships
  • Identify family safety concerns
  • Establish safe boundaries for behaviour
  • Acknowledge and understand choices and accountability 

Beyond Abuse

This is an eight week program that will provide a safe place where women can share their experiences of domestic violence.

 

Support will be offered and education about the cycle of violence.  Strategies to challenge the effects of abuse including assertive conversation techniques will be demonstrated and practiced. Tips on building self-esteem combined with the learning, helps develop a new awareness for future healthy relationships.         

Surviving Your Adolescents

 

This three week program covers:

  • Understanding adolescence:  A time for reconstructions, redeveloping social landscapes, brain snaps and body make-overs
  • Understanding your job as a parent of the teen e.g. observer/advisor
  • Asking the question – It is serious? What’s worth reacting to?
  • How to hold the difficult conversations more successfully

Security

 

The six week group is designed to enhance the bond and sense of security for both parent and infant in their relationship by:

  • Giving parents a roadmap as a way to better understand their children's needs.
  • Inviting parents to reflect on their own experiences of being parented and how it impacts on their parenting.
  • Providing an environment where parents can focus on their strengths and benefit from the experience of sharing with other parents 

Cyberspace

Bullying

This workshop is designed to help parents look at how they can help their child weigh up the potential consequences of the behavioural choices.  It’s important to provide parents with the support they need to address these challenges, risks and potentials. Participants will discuss realistic house rules and family supervision.  The cyber-smart guide for families will be given out to take home for future reference.
