How to Apply for Support at Home Funding

A little help can go a long way in maintaining your independence and quality of life. If you or a loved one needs support to continue living comfortably at home, Support At Home by Anglicare can provide the right assistance tailored to your needs.

The process may seem complex, but you’re not alone—Anglicare At Home is here to help.

Below, we’ve broken it down into simple steps, guiding you from understanding your options to securing the right care.

Follow these steps to access the support you need and stay in the home you love

Applying for your home care funding

To be eligible for government funding you need to be at least 65 years of age; over 50 and Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander; or over 50 on a low income, homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Step 1: Register with My Aged Care

Call 1800 200 422 or visit myagedcare.gov.au to register. Anglicare can assist you with this step if needed.

Step 2: Have an Assessment

My Aged Care will arrange for a free, in-home assessment to understand your care needs and determine your eligibility for government-funded support.

Step 3: Receive Your Care Approval

After the assessment, you’ll receive a letter confirming your approved care level (and funding band under the new Support at Home model).

Step 4: Choose Anglicare as Your Provider

Once approved, you can nominate Anglicare to deliver your services. We’ll work with you to build a care plan tailored to your needs and preferences.

Step 5: Start Receiving Support

We’ll coordinate the services you need—from domestic help to personal and clinical care—so you can live safely and independently at home.
