Palliative Care

At Anglicare, we provide life affirming palliative care that honours your dignity, values and preferences. While clinical care is central, we also know that social and emotional support is just as important. From supporting your family and loved ones to nurturing your emotional and spiritual wellbeing, Anglicare’s palliative care is about helping you live fully and with dignity until the end of life.

As a Christian organisation, we show grace, love and justice through our care. We work closely with you, your families and representatives to ensure that care decisions reflect your personal wishes, cultural needs and spiritual beliefs. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where those with life-limiting illnesses can remain connected to their communities and maintain meaningful relationships.

We’ve developed a comprehensive Palliative Care and End of Life Framework that aligns with national standards and focuses on care that’s personal and coordinated. It brings together the person, their family, carers, and health teams to set goals, make informed decisions, and ensure smooth transitions between services. Our teams are equipped through training to walk side by side with you and your loved ones through this journey.

We know that conversations about death and dying can be difficult.

Conversations with residents, family members and loved ones are commenced early, gently, sensitively. By creating safe spaces and strong connections, we encourage meaningful conversations that help empower you to make informed decisions about your care.

Through every step of the journey, we support you to live well and live meaningfully, surrounded by the people and experiences that matter to you most.

Does Anglicare support Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD)?

Anglicare believes in the dignity and worth of every person and is committed to providing compassionate, dignified care to our residents and clients.
We respect individual choice and the rights of residents and clients to make well-informed consideration of the life choices before them.

Anglicare acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the original and ongoing custodians of the lands and waters on which we live and work.

Inspired by the gospel of reconciliation in Jesus Christ, Anglicare's vision for reconciliation is a nation in which Australia's First Peoples are restored in dignity, respect, empowerment and opportunity.
