Leah* mum of five faces an impossible choice every day – pay for medical treatment or buy food for her children. At just 33, Leah was diagnosed with glaucoma. There is a chance that in a few years, she will be completely blind.
“Unfortunately, I can’t afford treatment,” Leah says. “We have other medical issues in the family and seven mouths to feed."
Anglicare’s Mobile Community Pantry vans travel around Sydney on a fortnightly basis, welcoming people in need to fill a bag of groceries and fresh food worth $60 for just $12. Having an extra $50 a week can mean the difference between medical care, or going without.
It also helps people like Leah to connect with a community who cares about her. Because the Mobile Community Pantry operates through Anglican churches and is administered by church volunteers, they are able to share the love of Jesus with people who need support.
Please give today and help us put food on the table for families in need.
Families like Leah's need our help now more than ever before.
