Palliative care is provided to someone who has a progressing illness and finding a cure is no longer the aim of the treatment. The focus is on making sure you are as comfortable as possible.
We may not think about palliative care until we get older but it is something which can affect us all at some stage, whether as a patient, carer, family member or friend.
Giving you the full support you need
At Anglicare, we have a team of specialists who can provide palliative care to residents and home care clients. Our expert Palliative Care nurses are available to respond quickly to your call and offer a consultancy service so any of your needs can be addressed.
Palliative Care is available in our villages or in your own home. Our dedicated team of health professionals including registered nurses, carers, GP’s, physiotherapists and occupational therapists – as well as chaplaincy staff – is available to you and family members.
All of these people play an important part in the process of your care, making sure that you – and your loved ones – get the full support you need.
What’s our approach to Palliative Care?
After diagnosis, we try to ensure we can help you get the best quality of life in the time you have available. We can help you with advanced care planning and make sure you have a voice when you can no longer speak for yourself.
We give progressive updates to any of our Palliative Care patients, right from the diagnosis and what to expect along the journey. We’ll endeavour to make it seamless and enjoyable for you, no matter what your needs are.
