As a not-for-profit organisation motivated to share the love of Jesus, we believe in holistic care – caring for the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspect of every person. For this reason pastoral and spiritual support is a significant part of the services we offer.
Our staff and volunteers are encouraged to create a Christian environment and live our values through their everyday work. Our chaplain services are available to all our residents, home care clients, employees and family members. While our pastoral and spiritual support is built on a Christian foundation, we welcome the opportunity to support everyone regardless of personal beliefs.
Our spiritual support takes many forms within our villages. You have the opportunity to receive one-to-one pastoral visitation or participate in small group studies and larger church gatherings. We also partner with local Anglican churches.
All our residential care homes have Chaplains and pastoral carers on site. They offer spiritual support, nurturing relationships and help to facilitate activities. They are also available to support families and staff.
Our pastoral carers are available to visit you in your home, or call you on the phone to offer you one-on-one pastoral, spiritual, emotional, and social support. This service is free of charge to Anglicare At Home clients.
Chaplains are also appointed to minister in major hospitals, mental health facilities, prisons and juvenile justice centres in the Sydney Diocese. They too are focused on bringing the message of hope and life through Jesus Christ to people who are in need and may have no other contact with Christians.
Chaplains can be contacted during normal office hours at the places where they minister. Many of our Hospital Chaplains will also be on call for after hour emergencies.
