Meet the board

Mr Greg Hammond OAM (Chairman)
BA Hons, LLB Hons, ThA Hons
Mr Hammond is a consultant and adviser to financial institutions, charities and not-for-profit organisations and has over 30 years' experience as a commercial lawyer. He was a member of the panel which reviewed the ACNC legislation in 2018 and he completed an independent review on access capital by cooperatives and mutuals in 2017. He was a partner of King & Wood Mallesons for over 27 years (1987–2014) and an Adjunct Fellow with the Applied Finance Centre at Macquarie University for over 20 years. His current roles include being Chair of ACS and Olive Tree Media, and a director of Anglican Representative (National Redress Scheme) Limited, the Australian College of Theology, G&C Mutual Bank, the Glebe Administration Board, Opportunity International Australia and Sydney Diocesan Services. He is a member of the Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney. He was appointed to the Board of ACS as its Chair on 1 July 2016.
Dr Steevie Chan
MBBS (Syd), MHA (UNSW), Grad Dip Bible & Mission (SMBC), FRACMA 
Dr Steevie Chan is a medical practitioner and medical educator with more than 30 years’ experience in health care and tertiary education, spanning both public and private sectors. He is currently the District Director of Medical Services at the Central Coast Local Health District and was recently Dean and Professor of the School of Medicine (Sydney) at the University of Notre Dame Australia. He has a deep interest and commitment to health care quality and patient safety and contributes to health outcomes research and education. Dr Chan has held senior roles in major teaching hospitals and the NSW Health Department, including being the Senior Policy Adviser for the Minister for Health; and was formerly Clinical Senior Lecturer (Population Medicine) at the University of Sydney. He has postgraduate and specialist qualifications in health administration and public health, and was formerly Chair, Board of Studies, Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (NSW). He has extensive experience in corporate governance through his Board membership of Research Institutes, not-for-profit companies and church-related organisations. He was appointed to the Board in March 2021.
Rev Eric Cheung
BE, BD
Mr Cheung is the Senior Minister at St Philip’s Anglican Church, Caringbah and was previously Senior Associate at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Castle Hill. Prior to theological studies, he was a Systems Consultant with experience designing and integrating sophisticated computing systems. Eric also serves as a member of the Sydney Church of England Grammar (Shore) School Council. Mr Cheung was appointed to the Board on 17 October 2018.
Mr Peter Hicks
BTP, M.Econ, FAICD
Mr Hicks is an independent company director. He has previously held senior leadership positions including CEO of Moorebank Intermodal Company and CFO of Leighton Contractors. He possesses deep commercial, building and financial experience and more than 15 years’ experience as a board member on several not- for-profit and commercial boards. Peter is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds tertiary qualifications in economics, planning and management. He is chairman of SCEGGS Darlinghurst and the Sydney Anglican Church Growth Corporation. He was appointed to the Board on 1 July 2016.
Ms Evelyn Horton
B.Ec, M.Soc.Sci. (Econs), FAICD
Ms Horton is a full-time company director who has served on a range of commercial, government and not-for-profit boards. Her executive experience spanned 30 years and included 15 years in investment banking and over a decade at the Commonwealth Treasury in Canberra. In banking, Ms Horton worked in mergers and acquisitions before taking on a succession of senior roles in risk management at a large Australian investment bank. She is the Commissioner of Superannuation in Tasmania and Chair of the Glebe Administration Board.
She worships at St Philips Church Hill. Ms Horton was appointed to the Board on 6 September 2021.
Dr Linda Kurti
FCHSM, PhD, MPhil, B.A
Dr Kurti is Managing Director of Stillpoint Strategy and was previously Group Director of Economic and Social Advisory at Urbis, an Australian consulting firm. Dr Kurti advises on a range of public policy issues, including health, aged care, and community services. She was appointed to the Board on 1 July 2016.
Bishop Gary Koo
MBBS, BD
Bishop Koo was appointed the Bishop of Western Sydney in 2019. He had previously served as the Senior Minister of the parish of Carlingford and North Rocks. The child of Malaysian migrants, Mr Koo trained as a medical doctor and worked for six years before becoming a Christian minister. He has a particular interest in serving people from cross-cultural backgrounds. He was appointed to the Board on 23 March 2020.
Prof Jonathan Morris AM
MB ChB, FRANZCOG, MM, DDU, CMFM, PhD, FAHMS
Prof Morris is an obstetrician and specialises in the care of high-risk pregnancy. He has held a number of senior positions including the Head of the University of Sydney’s Northern Clinical School, based at the Royal North Shore Hospital, and the Director of the Kolling Institute. He has a strong track record in health research and the use of data to improve the quality and appropriateness of health care. He is currently the Vice Chair of the Australian Preterm Birth Alliance and is Medical Lead for a NSW Maternity Safety Program within the Clinical Excellence Commission. Prof Morris has been a Director of Stillbirth Foundation Australia since 2008 and served as its Chair from 2010 to 2021. Prof Morris is also a Director of The NORTH Foundation (formerly the Kolling Foundation). Prof Morris was appointed to the Board in March 2021.
Mr Rod Dring
BEc, FCA, GAICD
Mr Dring has over 35 years’ experience in professional services and is currently an audit and assurance partner of PwC, having served in this role for the past 26 years. His experience extends to providing advice in the areas of audit, risk management, internal controls, transaction support, regulatory reporting and governance practices to a wide variety of industries. He has lived and worked in the USA and UK and has held a number of industry leadership roles in PwC covering Australia and Asia. Mr Dring is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has served on a number of not for profit and industry boards and is currently on the School Council of Abbotsleigh. He was appointed to the Board on 28 March 2023.
