Support at Home costs made simple

Affordable and flexible options tailored to you.

Understanding the costs of home care shouldn’t be complicated. At Anglicare, we make it simple and transparent—so you know exactly what to expect. We’ll guide you through the fees, funding options and what’s included, helping you make confident decisions with no hidden surprises.

How are fees worked out?

Fees for Support at Home are based on a few key factors: the level of care package you need, any income-tested care fees set by the government, and the specific services you choose. If you're eligible for government funding, this will cover most of your care costs, and Anglicare will clearly explain any out-of-pocket contributions. For private services, costs are set based on the type and frequency of support you need. We’re here to walk you through it all and make sure you understand exactly what you’re paying for.

Understanding the 8 Funding Bands in Support at Home

As part of the upcoming Support at Home program, the government is introducing 8 funding bands to better match care services to your individual needs. This new system replaces the current Home Care Package levels with a more flexible and tailored approach to support.

When you’re assessed through My Aged Care, you’ll be placed into one of the 8 bands—each reflecting the level of care and support you require to stay independent at home. The higher the band, the more support and funding you’ll receive.

How the Bands Work:

Bands 1–2: For those who need occasional help with simple tasks like cleaning, gardening or social outings.

Bands 3–4: For people needing more regular support, such as personal care, transport, or mobility assistance.

Bands 5–6: For those with more complex needs, including medication management and daily personal care.

Bands 7–8: For people requiring high-level, ongoing support similar to the current Level 4 Home Care Package.

How to apply for funding

Applying for Support at Home funding starts with a free assessment through My Aged Care, the government’s aged care gateway. This helps determine the level of support you’re eligible for.
