What is the NDIS ?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new way to get life-long, individualised supports and services to people with disability and mental health needs in Australia
Run by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), the NDIS empowers you to plan, choose and make decisions around your support needs.
As a long-time practitioner of person-centeredness, Anglicare strongly supports the NDIS. Anglicare is a registered NDIS provider.
What it means for You?
The NDIS offers you more choice and greater flexibility, so that you can find the support that's suitable for you to live more independent lives. Under the NDIS, government funding is now allocated to you. This means that you can use this funding to find the support, services and service provider that align to your values, needs and life goals. The support you receive can be tailored to you.
Anglicare works according to the value of justice which means that Anglicare is seeking equity, fairness and inclusion for all people. We believe that everyone is valuable and each one has an important role to play in the community. And so we see this new approach as an opportunity to empower people with more choice control and flexibility, on their road to recovery and support.
